Finance ministers and central bank governors from the Group of Seven major industrial nations will meet in London, not New York as one official had stated Tuesday, for a pre-summit meeting Sunday.

Unease over the high-flying dollar and the level of world interest rates probably will top the agenda. Discussion of how to help the ailing Soviet economy will also be discussed at the session, which precedes the July 15-17 annual summit of leaders from the G-7 countries, also to be held in London.

Soviet President Mikhail S. Gorbachev is due in London for talks after the full summit with leaders of the G-7: the United States, Japan, Germany, France, Canada, Italy and Britain.
