Chiang Hsiao-wu; Grandson of Chiang Kai-shek
Chiang Hsiao-wu, 46, a son of the late President Chiang Ching-kuo and former head of Taiwan’s diplomatic missions in Singapore and Japan. Chiang, who resigned last month for health reasons as head of Taiwan’s mission in Japan, had headed Taiwan’s mission in Singapore for two years before being transferred to Tokyo in 1990. He was president of the state-run Broadcasting Corp. of China from 1980 to 1986. Chiang’s grandfather was Chiang Kai-shek, Taiwan’s founder. In Taipei on Monday of heart failure brought on by a pancreatic inflammation.
