WORLD IN BRIEF : INDIA : Two More Arrested in Gandhi Killing
Police in New Delhi investigating the May assassination of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi arrested two more Tamil militants, a 70-year-old man and a 17-year-old girl. The arrests brought to 10 the number of people held in the killing accomplished by a woman with a bomb strapped to her body. All are thought be members of the Sri Lanka-based group known as the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam. Police said they have “clinching evidence” that the latest two suspects, who were not identified, were involved in the assassination.
