* Harvest summer vegetables often to extend production.

* Cut to 12 inches from soil level all hydrangea stalks that bloomed this year.

* Feed citrus and avocados.

* Pinch off fuchsia seed pods to extend production.

* Plant perennials during the next six weeks for bloom next spring and for years to come.
