Escondido’s Seymour Second in Triathlon

David Cihasky edged Escondido’s Brian Seymour to win the Vineman Triathlon held Saturday in the vineyards and waters of Northern California’s wine country.

Cihasky, 31, of Chippewa Falls, Wis., had a time of 9:02.10 to beat Seymour, who was at 9:05.44, and David Turner of Seattle, 9:09.31.

The event included a 2.4-mile swim in the Russian River, a 112-mile bike ride, followed by a 26.2-mile run.
