Share

West Hollywood has selected housing law attorney Mark T. Johnson to serve as director of its Rent Stabilization Department.

Johnson will be responsible for developing policies that preserve the city’s rent-control ordinance and various neighborhood revitalization programs. He has worked for the Legal Aid Foundation of Los Angeles for nine years and was responsible in part for litigation concerning low-income housing and landlord-tenant issues.

“Johnson’s experience in housing law gives him the experience in advocacy and policy development that West Hollywood needs at this time when our rent stabilization laws are facing their greatest challenges,” City Manager Paul Brotzman said.
