Twigs and Toast: An odd assortment of rock ‘n’ roll items will be auctioned at Christie’s in London on Aug. 29: a twig from John Lennon’s hedge; a slice of toast that George Harrison was served for breakfast on Aug. 2, 1963; one of Pete Townshend’s smashed guitars; some Jim Morrison lyrics; a 1958 concert program signed by Buddy Holly and the Crickets, and a 1958 love letter from Elvis Presley to Hollywood starlet Anita Wood. Lennon’s first wife, Cynthia, also is offering memorabilia, such as Lennon clothing, an address book, a Christmas card he made for her and artwork.
