Cut Pentagon to Help Schools

The editorial, “Help Students, Not the Tax Revolt” (July 31), states, “The school districts’ need is real, but there has to be a better way.” There is a better way, and that is to cash in on the Peace Dividend and Principle by reducing the defense budget from $300 billion to $150 billion per year.

The Cold War is over, folks; we have no enemy anymore. Let’s fund our school districts’ needs by redirecting funds from war budgets. The Permanent War Economy is at an end.
