Pact Signed: Alpha Microsystems, a business computer maker in Santa Ana, said last week that it signed an agreement with Tempe, Ariz.-based Motorola Computer Group to buy $4.2 million in computer systems.

Alpha Microsystems will sell the computer systems, which are based on the reduced instruction set computing technology commonly used in workstations, under its own name. It will package the computer with its own software applications.

The deal follows an announcement a week earlier in which Alpha said it would buy $4 million worth of computer boards from Fremont-based Micronics Computers Inc. over a three-year period.
