Northrop Whistle-Blower Recognized: Jean Francois Truong, a whistle-blower who alleged in 1987 that Northrop defrauded the Air Force on the B-2 program, has been recognized for his public service by the Giraffe Project, a Whidbey Island, Wash., nonprofit organization that “inspires people to stick their necks out for the common good.” Truong, a former Northrop controller in the B-2 bomber division, was fired by the company after he alleged that the company was overcharging the Air Force. Northrop denied his allegations. A whistle-blower lawsuit brought by Truong is continuing, though the Justice Department has declined to join in the prosecution.
