Sales of North American-Made Vehicles Drop: Early August sales of North American-made cars and trucks fell 9.5% from last year’s weakened level, according to figures that cast doubt on the strength of a recovery in the auto industry. Sales in last year’s early August period were clobbered by the Iraqi invasion of Kuwait.
