Prune Pyracantha After Berry Peak

Share

Q: Does pyracantha need pruning? If so, when should I prune?

A: Pruning to control size and shape of pyracantha should occur in winter after berry production has peaked. In addition, branches showing indications of fire blight should be removed when the condition is first observed. Wear gloves and a long-sleeved shirt to protect from sharp spines.
