Conditions in L.A. Schools

Share

Thanks for the editorial calling for our business and political leaders to get serious about improving public education. I’ll add it to my collection of similar editorials you’ve published over the last 24 years--the 24 years I’ve been teaching in Los Angeles public schools.

The problem is that children don’t have money (to pay lobbyists to represent their interests in Sacramento and Washington), and they don’t vote. So don’t hold your breath waiting for “the powers that be” to get serious about improving public education. It ain’t gonna happen.
