*** Living Colour, “Biscuits,” Epic. The band that broke rock’s color barrier marks time amiably enough with a six-song grab-bag EP composed mostly of live remakes. It’s more illuminating to hear Talking Heads’ edgy “Memories Can’t Wait” given the hard-rock treatment than James Brown and Al Green standards somewhat de-funkified, true, but these biscuits are all easily digestible, with more than enough squealing-lick grit(s).
