Amati Names Agency Finalists: The race for the $60-million ad business for Mazda’s new luxury car division, Amati, has been narrowed to five agencies. Two Los Angeles firms are in the running: Lord Dentsu & Partners and Della, Femina, McNamee. San Francisco agency Foote, Cone & Belding, which already handles Mazda advertising, is also among the finalists, as is the New York agency Jordan, McGrath, Case & Taylor and the Chicago agency Tatham/R.S.C.G. The shop eventually selected will be expected to operate an office in Los Angeles.
