Let’s Let Everybody Use All the Streets
The city of Torrance is deciding whether or not the residents of Palos Verdes Estates may be privileged to use “their” street--Via Valmonte!
Gosh, as a native Californian I was under the impression I could use any and all streets in MY state; even go so far as to assume I could use all the streets in the U.S.A.
There are great possibilities here: Has Lomita thought of all the Torrance people who use Lomita Boulevard for access? How about Carson? Should Inglewood cut off the exits to their city from the freeway? How about issuing passports to enter the city of Torrance?
We live on Palos Verdes Drive West, and the entire weekend it is used by people enjoying our ocean view, etc. Many times, they will wave, call out a “hello”; need directions or maybe have to use the telephone to call because of a car malfunction. So what? Hey, this is America--come on, you Torrance people (incidentally, I lived in Torrance for nine years--would this give me any chance of using their streets?), stop acting like spoiled kids--methinks I hear the swishing of “spoiled grapes.”
Let’s all enjoy the beautiful California streets and each other.
