Beef Prices at 18-Month Low, Group Says: Beef prices at the grocery store are the lowest in 18 months, the National Cattlemen’s Assn. said. The average price of six cuts of beef Aug. 22 was $3.05 a pound, compared to $3.14 a pound two weeks earlier, the association said. The peak this year was $3.26 in May.
