Economy Reported Expanding Strongly: The economy grew 9.1% in the first half of 1991, expanding at a stronger pace than expected, according to South Korea’s central bank. The government earlier this year had projected a growth rate of 8.9% for 1991. The unexpectedly high GNP was attributed largely to expanded exports--particularly in the second quarter--and to steady growth in manufacturing and service sectors.
