Norwalk : Queen and Court Chosen at 33rd Annual Beauty Show

Shawna Lee Jaquillard has been crowned Miss Norwalk and will serve as the city’s ambassador for 1991-92. She won the title over nine competitors in front of a sold-out audience at the 33rd annual beauty pageant at the Burnight Center Theatre at Cerritos College.

Jaquillard, 22, a graduate of Norwalk High School, is studying early childhood education at Cerritos College. She plans to own a preschool for hearing-impaired children. Her hobbies are swimming and softball.

Four finalists who make up the queen’s court are Denita Karatzas, Miss Chamber of Commerce and first runner-up; Amy Martinez, second runner-up; Jennifer Jaines, Miss Photogenic and third runner-up; and Wendy Serrano, fourth runner-up. Karatzas also won the Miss Public Relations title for selling the most pageant tickets, and Jeannine Leon was chosen Miss Congeniality.
