Sheriff’s deputies arrested a man suspected of robbing a bank moments after he allegedly left the bank, authorities said.

A man gave a teller a demand note at the Bank of America branch at 9710 Campo Road shortly before 2:30 p.m. Wednesday and walked away with about $2,500 in cash, said Detective Robert Guaderrama of the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department.

A description of the robber was broadcast to patrol cars in the area, and Deputy Mike Edwards spotted Gilbert Raymond Ynfante, 41, who fit the description, about a block away from the bank on Campo Road, Guaderrama said.

Edwards chased Ynfante on foot for about a block, then arrested him without incident, Guaderrama said.

Ynfante was carrying about $1,000 when arrested, Guaderrama said. Authorities believe Ynfante may be involved in six other bank robberies in the San Diego area, Guaderrama said.
