Irreverent, outre and frequently oblique in its humor, Bill Griffith’s “Zippy the Pinhead” ranks among the most original comic strips currently appearing in the papers. Griffith is not a great draftsman, but his sophisticated graphic sense enables him to spoof the vapid features of Hello Kitty and other dubious examples of contemporary design.
