Teacher’s Creation Battle: Controversy Evolving

I think that the Capistrano Unified School District ought to be sued for gross incompetence for allowing a PE major to teach creationist non-science for the last seven years at Capistrano Valley High School. Couldn’t the Board of Education find even one biology major to teach a high school biology class?

Can any educated person today not be surprised to read that a teacher of biology--and a non-biology major!--could publicly say: “They want me to promote the fossil record as though it were a fact”! As though it were a fact, Mr. John Peloza? Are you kidding? What have you been reading? Any science, paleontology, anthropology or geology that has been published in the last 100 years? Oh, give me a break!

It is time that high school biology students learn that we do not live on a flat Earth under a flat sky that was created in six literal days in 4004 B.C.! Is this asking too much? Is the fossil record to be seen by modern American biology students as nothing more than proof of a Great Flood at the time of Noah and his ark? This is really great science! Really contemporary critical thinking! Good preparation for a science major at a college or university!
