FAA Proposal Would Give More Access to Busy Airports: The Federal Aviation Administration proposed a revision of its high-density traffic airport rule to make it easier for new entrant airlines and those with fewer than 12 slots to get takeoff and landing rights at four of the nation’s busiest airports. Slots allow a carrier to take off or land at airports where limits have been imposed on air traffic because of congestion. The current rule limits the number of takeoffs and landings at New York’s La Guardia and John F. Kennedy airports, Chicago’s O’Hare and Washington National during busy times of the day.
