A 16-year-old boy was arrested in connection with a fatal shooting last week in Vista after he surrendered himself Thursday at Juvenile Hall, authorities said.

The suspect, whose name is not being released because of his age, surrendered with his attorney at 2:20 p.m., said Sgt. Manny Castillo, of the San Diego Sheriff’s Department.

He was the second suspect to be arrested in connection with the shooting of two Vista residents last week, Castillo said.

Adrian Tafur, 26, and Daniel Garcia, 15, were shot last Sunday during an argument over a woman, Castillo said. They were standing outside Tafur’s house in the 1000 block of Goodwin Drive, positioned in front of the passenger window of a red Honda when the shots were fired, Castillo said.

Tafur died at Palomar Medical Center. Garcia was treated and discharged.

Sheriff’s detectives last week arrested Mauricio Campos Silva, 18, of Vista in connection with the shooting. He is suspected of being an accessory to a felony and is being held at County Jail in Vista on $200,000 bail. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for Sept. 18.
