Chief Lifts Police Restaurant Ban

San Diego Police Chief Bob Burgreen, who declared all 17 Sizzler restaurants and Topsy’s Coffee Shop off-limits to officers because those establishments were offering discount food, said Monday that the restaurants are now acceptable because their managers have agreed to offer only full-price meals.

In memos July 17 and Aug. 20, Burgreen said the department had asked restaurant managers at those locations not to offer discount food and drink, but they had refused.
