An East Los Angeles man will stand trial for allegedly firebombing a drive-through dairy store.

At a preliminary hearing last week, Municipal Court Commissioner Harold Mulville ordered Francisco Rodriguez, 19, bound over for trial on Oct. 2 in Pomona Superior Court.

Rodriguez, charged with one count of arson, remains in Los Angeles County Jail in lieu of $20,000 bail.

The Rockview Dairy on East Vine Avenue has been struck by three Molotov cocktails.

The first bombing, on July 9, caused $100,000 damage. The other attacks, on Aug. 8 and Sept. 3, resulted in minor damage.

Police have linked Rodriguez with only the September bombing.

West Covina Police Detective Brent Moore, who testified at the hearing, said Rodriguez told him that three gang members hired him to help torch the dairy.

Rodriguez assumed that he would be paid $100 or $200 for the job, Moore said.

Rodriguez has refused to cooperate further with investigators.
