Pitzer Student Wins Top Awards at Fair
Pitzer College junior Kathyrn Chan of Glendora swept top awards at the flower-arranging competition at the Los Angeles County Fair, winning four of seven awards, including Best of Show, People’s Choice, Excellence for Originality and Excellence for Use of Color and Design.
Some of Chan’s displays measure 24 feet long and 10 feet high, and because the flowers wilt, she must redesign them daily.
Her arrangements will be on display at the fair through Sept. 29.
