AUCTION: The estate of entertainer Sammy Davis Jr. will be offered at auction at 1 p.m. today at 7601 Sunset Blvd. in Los Angeles. Highlights from Davis’ personal memorabilia include his trademark collection of hats and walking sticks, three gold statuettes, scrapbooks and photo albums. Admission is free.

DESCANSO GARDENS: Orientation classes will be held for new docents to conduct 90-minute garden tours, 1418 Descanso Drive, La Canada Flintridge; 9:30 to 11 a.m. Wednesdays through Nov. 20.

DEVIL’S GATE: There will be a community meeting on plans for the Devil’s Gate multi-use project to restore the Devil’s Gate debris basin; Westminster Presbyterian Church, 1757 N. Lake Ave., Pasadena; 7 p.m. Wednesday (free).
