FATHER BOYLE

Thank you, Celeste Fremon, for your inspiring and insightful article “G-Dog and the Homeboys” (Aug. 11). It was a sobering look into the harsh realities of the kids in East Los Angeles. In a world of people who choose to walk alone with hatred, hypocrisy and greed, Father Gregory Boyle chooses to walk with others, offering compassion, understanding and love. I thank Father Boyle for his tireless efforts with the Dolores Mission community, but more important, I thank him for his true inspiration. Through his example we, too, have a choice based not on who we are, but rather who we can become.
