A construction contract to renovate Lincoln Elementary School will go before the board of the Newport-Mesa Unified School District on Tuesday.
The district staff recommends that the contract be awarded to M.L. Hansen Co. of San Jacinto and that construction be scheduled to begin Oct. 14 if the contract is approved.
“We’re really excited about this,” said board President Sherry Loofbourrow.
The $3.25-million contract will go toward revitalizing the former middle school, which has not been used by the district for nearly a decade. Currently the site, on Pacific View Drive, is leased for other city and school-related uses.
