The Ventura County Grand Jury has indicted a man in the Sept. 6 death of a 16-year-old youth who was stabbed during a disturbance outside an Oak Park condominium complex.

Jurors charged Stephen Holsborg, 21, in the death of Craig Hastings, who would have entered his junior year at Oak Park High School in Agoura. Hastings was treated at Westlake Hospital, but died two days later.

At the time of the incident, Holsborg was living with his girlfriend and her father at an Oak Park condominium complex on North Oak Hills Drive near Avenue Soledad, Deputy Dist. Atty. Carol Nelson said.

He got into an argument with a group of teen-agers talking below his residence and began throwing bottles at them, Nelson said. After arming himself with a baseball bat and a dagger mounted on a set of brass knuckles, Holsborg pursued Hastings and several other youths down the bank behind his home. He allegedly stabbed Hastings in the groin after the youth attempted to talk with him.

The grand jury indicted Holsborg on Monday for the murder. He was also charged with possessing an illegal weapon, the brass knuckles, she said. He is being held in Ventura County Jail with bail set at $250,000. His arraignment has been set for Oct. 2.
