Dismissal of North Charges
For President Bush, the dismissal of all Iran-Contra charges and convictions against Oliver North proves that the American system of justice works (front page, Sept.17).
For me, it proves that as long as a well-financed lawbreaker wraps himself in the American flag and hides beneath the veil of national security, he can get away scot-free with lying, cheating, stealing and killing.
I weep for a nation with leadership possessing such a perverted notion of justice and honor. And I weep for the 26,000 dead Nicaraguans who have somehow been forgotten in all of this.
