Share

Monrovia’s new city manager, Rod Gould, was sworn in Tuesday night along with an interim replacement for departing City Atty. Richard J. Morillo.

Gould, former assistant city manager of Walnut Creek, will be paid $88,000 annually and be eligible for a yearly 5% salary bonus.

Morillo, who has worked for Monrovia for nine years, resigned effective Tuesday to become senior assistant city attorney in San Bernardino. His former law partner, Douglas D. Barnes, will serve as interim city attorney indefinitely, assuming Morillo’s $3,600 monthly retainer and hourly fees for litigation.
