China Says State Workers’ Wages Are Rising Too Fast

BEIJING — State employees’ wages are rising too fast, the government said Friday as it launched a yearlong study of ways to reform the wage system.
The study reflects deep divisions within China over how much variation should be allowed in incomes and whether some people should be allowed to get much richer than others.
