NATION IN BRIEF : VERMONT : 4 Shot in Factory; Suspect in Custody
An employee went on a shooting spree at a Bennington, Vt., battery plant, killing the plant manager and injuring three others, police said. Elizabeth Teague, 30, an industrial engineer for Eveready Battery Co., was arrested in Pittsburg, N.H., about 220 miles away. Authorities said Teague set a small fire at the plant, apparently as a diversion, then walked through the plant and shot four people, three men and a woman. Jonathan Perryman, manager of the plant, was shot in the head and died during surgery, police said.
