BONBON ALERT: Good news for diet vets. That fudge you’ve been pining for? Go for it! Two authors headlining the second annual Nutrition Summit in Newport Beach that starts Thursday say “legalizing” foods outlawed on most diets can help shed pounds. Jane R. Hirschmann and Carol H. Munter, who wrote the bestseller “Overcoming Overeating,” contend that dieting triggers compulsive eating, weight gain and self-contempt. . . . Less-restricted eating can stabilize weight according to their so-called “anti-diet” research, which they’ll present at the Le Meridian Hotel event.
