Wahlco Reports Jump in 3rd-Quarter Profits

Wahlco Environmental Systems Inc., the Irvine maker of pollution control equipment for power plants, Monday reported third-quarter earnings of $4.4 million, equal to 25 cents per share, compared to $2.6 million, or 15 cents per share, during last year’s third quarter.

Revenues were $27.2 million this quarter, compared to $13.7 million last year.

For the first three quarters of this year, Wahlco reported earnings of $7.9 million, or 45 cents per share, compared to $7.2 million, or 45 cents per share, last year. (The number of shares outstanding increased by 1.5 million during the year.)

Revenues for the first three quarters of 1991 were $61.3 million, compared to $40 million in 1990.
