Whittier : Former Rose Hills Executive Loses Job Dismissal Lawsuit

Share

A Superior Court jury in Pomona has ruled against a former Rose Hills Mortuary executive who claimed in a lawsuit that he had been wrongfully dismissed after 34 years with the company.

Robert Graham, a former vice president, said Rose Hills executives pressured him to leave because they wanted to prevent him from participating in their successful bid to buy the mortuary. Graham said he departed in January, 1990.

Rose Hills officials argued that Graham left the company of his free will after being demoted from a vice president’s position for doing a poor job. Company executives also said Graham had never been a part of the group that purchased the mortuary in May, 1990.

The jury returned its verdict last week after a three-week trial.
