OXNARD : Bank Robber Faces Up to 20 Years

An Oxnard man who pleaded guilty to charges of robbing a Ventura bank and attempting to rob an Oxnard savings and loan will be sentenced Nov. 18.
Andrew Legans Jr., 53, faces up to 20 years in prison and a $250,000 fine for each robbery incident, Assistant U.S. Atty. Bart H. Williams said.
Legans’ partner in one of the Jan. 29 robberies, 41-year-old Wiley Baxter Golden of San Francisco, was sentenced last week in U.S. District Court. He received a term of six years in prison.
Legans pleaded guilty Sept. 4 to robbing Wells Fargo Bank at 101 S. Chestnut St. in Ventura and attempting to rob Santa Paula Savings & Loan Assn. at 2824 Saviers Road in Oxnard.
