Ollie’s Oath Was to the Constitution

Share

Your headline in the Oct. 24 issue, “Ollie North, Semper Fi” was certainly intentionally ironic.

His first and worst betrayal was his violation of the oath he took when he was commissioned at the Naval Academy. He swore an oath before God to the Constitution of the United States, not to Ronald Reagan.

He was trading on the loyalty to Reagan when he was riding high. It is no surprise that he should be trashing that oath now, too.
