Apple Notebooks Selling Fast: Apple Computer Inc. said demand for its new notebook portable computers is very high and the company is having difficulty filling all of its customers’ orders. The Cupertino., Calif.-based company unveiled in October the long-awaited line of notebook computers, called the PowerBook. The notebooks--designed small enough to fit in a briefcase but powerful enough to run the latest spreadsheet program--are Apple’s attempt to break into the big leagues of corporate computing.
