Ethics as Filtered Through Prager’s Prism

Share

There is no doubt the Prager is a provocative guy, and when his show started I thought it might turn out to be something special, a forum in which serious ideas could be discussed in a serious way, but he turned out to be a disappointment.

The reason I hardly ever listen to him anymore is that there is simply no real discussion of issues on his program.

Prager has simply made up his mind that he has the answer to all of the important questions in life, and whenever a caller raises a provocative issue counter to his views, one that could lead to an interesting exchange of ideas, he doesn’t discuss. He pounces on the caller and defends his position as if his life depended on it.

Prager is not interested in exchanging views; he is only interested in defending the “rightness” of his views. It’s too bad, not so much because of what his program is, but because of how good it might have been if he were more open-minded.
