Chiropractor Pleads No Contest in Sexual Attacks
A Rolling Hills Estates chiropractor pleaded no contest Monday to four criminal charges for sexually assaulting two patients while treating them for headaches.
Tychicus Yu, 33, faces as much as 12 years and eight months in state prison when he is sentenced in Long Beach Superior Court on Feb. 18. He pleaded no contest to one count of penetration with a foreign object, two counts of assault with intent to commit a felony and one count of oral copulation.
The charges were based on allegations by two of Yu’s former patients. The first, a 32-year-old Lomita woman, told prosecutors that Yu drugged her in March, 1990, so he could sexually assault her in his office. The second, a 16-year-old Wilmington girl, said Yu molested her in January of this year at her parents’ home after she sought treatment for a migraine headache.
Both patients have filed a civil suit against Yu in Los Angeles Superior Court. Yu’s attorney, Henry Salcido, could not be reached for comment.
