Full Moon Is Perfect for Harvesting Lunker

It was shortly after midnight last Saturday, during a full moon, when Sal Navarro, fishing at Irvine Lake, felt his rod bend. It wasn’t until 12:30 a.m. that the Corona resident was able to bring his catch to the boat--a 53-pound 2-ounce catfish that might be a world record for 12-pound test line.
