O.C. PLATFORM : Charity Reforms

With 31 cities and the county, all with different regulations and modes of enforcement regarding charitable giving, it’s been virtually impossible for a person to even report when there’s been a problem.

We’ve been working on a model ordinance that was proposed by the national attorneys general a couple of years ago that was totally in sync with all the new Supreme Court rulings and statutes that are being observed on a nationwide basis. We’ve decided to propose that model on a county level after the first of the year.

The only thing that seems sensible is a one-phone-number centralized facility. Local charities would buy into a form of registration with this office and agree to update the office each year with new information.
