THE RAGE OF THE BLACK MIDDLE CLASS

Share

“The Rage of the Black Middle Class” (by Sam Fulwood III, Nov. 3) could easily have been my story. We’re close in age. I attended a private prep school, graduated from Harvard and elbowed my way into a middle-class income and lifestyle. I, too, have been frustrated by the never-ending struggle to overcome the insidious, dehumanizing effects of racism.

The main difference is that I’m not disillusioned. I accepted the fact that my parents’ struggle would be passed on to me, and that it will become my children’s struggle.
