Glendora : Housing Vote Delayed

Before an overflow crowd of several hundred people, the City Council on Tuesday postponed until January a decision on plans to stimulate construction of low-income housing in the city.

Planning Director Stan Wong said the state requires all cities to provide low-income housing. If Glendora does not comply, he said, the city could face lawsuits or a possible cutoff of state funds.

Several speakers requested the delay, saying they had not had time to review the Environmental Impact Report. The matter will come before the council again at its Jan. 14 meeting.
