Former Soldier Sentenced for Threat to Kill Bush

TRENTON, N.J. —
A Kuwaiti-born former U.S. soldier who admitted threatening the life of President Bush has been sentenced to a year in federal prison.
Jamal M. Warrayat, 33, of Rutherford, N.J., had been accused of discussing with an undercover FBI agent plans to kill Bush, Secretary of State James A. Baker III and Congress members.
Court papers said he also conspired to attack unspecified military installations in North Carolina and Texas. Warrayat, sentenced Friday, had pleaded guilty April 17 to making terrorist threats.
