Glendale : Staffers Win News Awards

El Vaquero, the student newspaper at Glendale Community College received 10 awards at the recent conference of the Journalism Assn. of Community Colleges Southern Section. Honorees include Tony Kodis, first place, newswriting; Yoshihiro Yamaguchi, honorable mentions in news photography and feature photography; Charles de Lauzirika, third place, critical review; Mary Reed, third place, feature writing; Manjula Koshy, honorable mention, editorial cartoon; Stan Court and Delores Blackburn, honorable mentions, newswriting, and Cesar Maguina, honorable mention, line illustration. The El Vaquero was awarded an honorable mention for general excellence.
