From Times Staff and Wire Reports

Earvin (Magic) Johnson, citing differences with Administration policy, said he may resign from the National Commission on AIDS. He said he will meet with President Bush in January to exchange views and if their differences cannot be reconciled, he may quit. “I’m going to have to put pressure on him . . . to allocate funds. Because if he doesn’t, I’m not going to be on the commission,” Johnson told reporters before a Los Angeles Lakers-Detroit Pistons game in Auburn Hills, Mich.
